Web Auctions Daily http://www.webauctionsdaily.com/ is a one-stop shop for all the latest website, template, domain and Facebook application auctions online. Designed with internet marketers in mind, Web Auctions Daily is a practical tool that combines the newest auctions from four of the most popular auction sites and rolls them into one nice, neat little package. The site currently displays auctions from SitePoint Marketplace, DNForum, DigitalPoint Forums and Webmaster-Talk.
Web Auctions Daily allows you to pick and choose what kind of auctions you want to browse. I am not a big fan of Facebook applications or buying and selling domains so I would only be interested in the
templates and
websites for sale auction feeds. For those that are interested however, they do have updated listings for
Facebook and
Domain names.
The site not only features newly listed auctions, it also contains separated archives dating back to auctions which were posted in the last seven days for added convenience. Web Auctions Daily is automatically updated every hour and has its own dedicated RSS feeds which allow users to subscribe and receive notices when new auctions are posted. Users can subscribe to any individual types of auctions (site, domain, template or Facebook application) depending on their personal interests. Users may also utilize the search bar to target specific auctions that you are interested in.
The greatest asset to
http://www.webauctionsdaily.com/ is its simplicity. First-time users will have no trouble navigating around as everything is laid out plainly without all the gimmicks and bells and whistles found on other sites. Each auction type is well organized and each new auction thread is accompanied by the logo of the auction site that it came from for easy distinction.
Web Auctions Daily is also a great website for entrepreneurs who have talent at buying and selling (a.k.a. flipping) websites. If you are good, you can buy a website that earns $100 per month for around $300. You run the website for up to three months and actively market it. You would earn your $300 back in those three months, along with whatever extra promotion you did. Lets say you doubled your monthly revenue and it makes $200/m now after the first month. This would put you at $500 for a $300 investment, and then you could sell the site for up to $2000 (10 months revenue), or go for a quick sale at $1000. This would be a net profit of $1000-2000 for only your time. As with anything, this requires a lot of talent, a bit of luck, and some risks.
What could be improved?I subscribe to Sitepoint sites for sale on my RSS reader because it has the highest ratio for quality auctions. I feel that there are too many auctions on digitalpoint that are of low quality, and it only wastes my time reading them. If the site had an option for subscribing to a feed with only the three sites (removing DP), I would instantly use it.
MonetizationThe website is completely advertisement free at this time. Normally this would raise a flag in my book because if a site is not making any money, then there is a good chance it is not being actively marketed. Luckily for this case,
http://www.webauctionsdaily.com/ has ordered this review meaning they are planning long term and want to provide an excellent service.
Would I recommend it? Seeing as how it is completely free to use, has virtually no advertisements, and provides a service, it gets a “yes” in my book. Take a look for yourself and go check out (
